AI Prompts Agency Recruiters Send Their Candidates

Dear Recruiter,

Here are two prompts that you can send your candidate before an employer interview. Your candidate can copy, fill in the [brackets], and paste into Claude, ChatGPT, or another AI tool, before every employer interview so they do well and you have a better chance of making another placement. Prompt 1 uses only the job description. Prompt 2 adds the candidate’s resume.

Prompt 1: Predicts the Interview Questions From the Job Description

Act as an experienced hiring manager interviewing candidates for the position of

[INSERT JOB TITLE] at [INSERT COMPANY NAME].

Using the job description below, create a list of the interview questions I am most

likely to be asked. Organize them into the three phases of the interview:

1. Opening Phase (first 10 minutes): questions about my interest in the company,

   my motivation for applying, and "Tell me about yourself."

2. Middle Phase: For each key requirement, skill, and responsibility in the job

   description, write the behavioral question an interviewer would ask to test it.

   Use the format "Tell me about a time when you..." or "Describe a situation where

   you..." Also include:

   - Technical or role-specific questions for this position

   - "Describe a recent project where you used an AI tool, and which AI tool you used."

3. Closing Phase: questions about my availability, compensation expectations, and

   "What questions do you have for us?"

Rank the 10 questions I am most likely to be asked, and next to each one, name the

job requirement it is testing.

Prompt 2: Answers Each Question Using Your Resume

Below are the interview questions I expect to be asked for the position of

[INSERT JOB TITLE] at [INSERT COMPANY NAME], along with my resume and the job description.

For each question:

1. Identify the experience on my resume that best answers the question.
2. Draft a response I can say in under 2 minutes, using this structure:

   - Situation: the business challenge or goal

   - Action: the specific steps I took

   - Result: the measurable outcome (time saved, revenue gained, costs reduced,

     quality improved)

   - Learned: the important things I learned through this effort

3. If my resume doesn't show strong experience for a question, tell me, and suggest

   which related experience I could use instead.

Then:

- Predict 5 questions the interviewer will ask about my resume itself, such as

  employment gaps, job changes, or experience that doesn't match the position,

  and draft an honest, confident answer to each.

- List the 3 concerns this hiring manager is most likely to have about my

  background, and how I can address each one.

- Ask me follow-up questions if you need details or numbers to make an answer

  stronger.

Note for candidates: AI drafts the structure. You supply the truth. Rewrite every answer in your own words and with your own stories, then practice saying each one out loud. If AI includes a number or detail that isn’t accurate, change it. Interviewers will ask follow-up questions.

To keep the work in one conversation, have candidates run Prompt 2 right after Prompt 1, in the same AI chat. The AI already has the questions and job description, so they only need to paste their resume.
