No Confidence Equals No Job Offer

Jennifer's emotions ran high as she entered the conference room for her job interview. She prepared intellectually by researching the company and the job description. She wore her best interview suit, brought work samples and three copies of her résumé. Externally she looked like a women ready for this career moment.

But emotionally she was extremely nervous and unsure of herself. She lacked the most important thing she could bring to an interview, confidence.

Confidence cannot be induced through will power. Confidence does not come from techniques or tricks. We feel confident when we are prepared emotionally as well as intellectually. Confidence comes from knowing how to handle any interview situation and question. Confidence emerges when you know what to do, what to say and what to ask during the three (3) phases of every interview.

Traditional advice recommends preparing by reading the organization's website and reviewing your résumé. But conventional career advice does not help prepare you emotionally to be your best at the most important moments of your job interviews.
